High Hutton Roadworks and Overnight Road Closure

Due to problems with the water main on Back Lane in High Hutton, Yorkshire Water and their contractors Balfour Beattie will be undertaking major roadworks.

Trial holes will be dug on on Sunday 10th February, between 0900 and 1800, although the road will not be closed, traffic lights will be used to control traffic so expect some short delays.

Following this the actual work will start on the 4th March 2013 and will run through to the 31st May 2013. During this period part of Back Lane will be closed overnight.

(but see update below)

Are you sure the roadworks are planned to last until the 31st of May?

    1. Thanks Jem,

At the original site meeting this was the period quoted by Balfour Beattie as their technical man said "Best case is six weeks work". However they've since written to residents to say the road will be closed for about 10 days, I imagine new figure is a result of their test drilling. I've amended the post.
